Rick Swain is a retired Army combat veteran with a background in specialized military and emergency response roles. Rick's deep passion for wilderness preparedness has been cultivated over 30 years, as he remains dedicated to continuous learning and practical skill development. As the founder and owner of The SCROLL LLC, Rick shares his extensive expertise in critical readiness skills for the outdoors. He is a Registered Outdoor Guide in the state of Maine. Rick is one of the instructors at NHOLC (and other places) teaching wilderness first aid, survival, and navigation techniques. He also hosts an incredible Month Long Wilderness Canoe Expedition.
